Ginger Coffee Rub

I discovered kopi jahe, an Indonesian ginger coffee beverage, living in Indonesia. 

This was the first blend I created from scratch specifically for the launch of the business. I wanted to make a coffee rub, and this surprising combination from my years in Indonesia came to mind.

The warm, subtle spice of ginger dominates this blend, while the coffee caramelizes to create a savory crust. Exceptional on burgers and steaks, it also works well on chicken. Or if you're feeling a little adventurous, it makes a plate of fried rice that rivals the street vendors' offerings in Jakarta.
