I spent eight years living in Asia. China, Malaysia, and then Indonesia, where my wife is from.

When I lived in Asia, I missed the food from home. I made red beans and rice the first Thanksgiving I was in China in the absence of turkey and dressing because it was something from home I could easily make. And because my Saints were on their way to their first Super Bowl. There were no Mexican restaurants within thousands of miles. I had to learn to make tacos completely from scratch, tortillas and all, because I wasn't going without tacos.

When I came home in 2017 the tables turned. I missed my favorites from China and Indonesia. I missed Korean food, which we ate frequently even though I only visited Korea twice during my years abroad.

When I decided to build a seasoning blend business I wasn't going to offer what everyone else was offering. I was going to tell my story in flavor, and ENAK Seasonings is the result.

I formulated every one of these blends myself, in our family kitchen, before any of it went to large-scale production. No chefs. No food scientists. No marketing department. It's just been me, and, of course, Maggie alongside, building something from the ground up to create freedom and a legacy for our family.
