Three different directions for the beef you already cook.
Four Pepper Blend
This is the blend that started ENAK. I’d been adjusting my steak seasoning for more than twenty years when a few final changes, and one bite of tri tip in September 2024, told me I had it. Kosher salt, four peppers, garlic, onion, and one ingredient I’m keeping to myself. First meals: Grilled ribeye or tri tip.Ginger Coffee Rub
In Indonesia, I discovered kopi jahe: ginger coffee. Years later, I built a rub around that combination and tested it on burgers without telling Maggie I’d made something new. Her face after the first bite told me enough. Warm ginger leads the flavor. Coffee works in the background, helping build the crust. First meals: Burgers or steak bites.Busan BBQ
Trips to Busan, South Korea, gave me flavors I wanted to keep cooking with back home. This is my interpretation: salty and sweet, a hint of sour, a touch of heat, and a floral citrus finish. First meals: short ribs or thin sliced steaks.
Start with your next steak. Then try the burgers.
You don’t need to learn three new recipes before opening the bottles.
Steak night: Season your steak with Four Pepper Blend before cooking it your usual way.
Burger night: Form your patties, season both sides with Ginger Coffee Rub, and get them on the grill or into a skillet.
Rice-bowl night: Season thin-sliced beef with Busan BBQ, cook it quickly, and serve it over rice with vegetables.
All three blends contain salt. Start without additional salt, then adjust to your taste.
One began more than 20 years ago in college. The others began overseas.
I’m Philip, founder of ENAK.
Four Pepper Blend came from years of trying to get my steak seasoning right. Ginger Coffee Rub traces back to a cup of ginger coffee in Indonesia. Busan BBQ grew out of trips to Korea.
I developed each blend in our family kitchen. Putting them together gives you three of my favorite ways to season beef, from a weekend steak to burgers after work.
